I have teamed up again with the lovely Kate from Bargain Beauty Hub to bring you another edition of ‘The Body Shop Under £30’ series; this time we’re reviewing makeup products!
Disclaimer: I am an Independent Consultant for The Body Shop at Home – but all reviews are my own, and products have been purchased by myself. For more information on ordering through me, or joining TBSAH – see the links at the end of this post.
I’ve recently been very into natural looking makeup, if you knew me you’d know my eye makeup used to be OTT daily, bright vibrant colours, eyeliner, mascara and even glitter! Although I’m always up for getting glam, I think lockdown and the past year has maybe swayed me to go down the more natural route, because the only time anyone is going to see me is at the weekly food shop…
So anyway, let’s get into the products.
This foundation was my first makeup purchase from The Body Shop, so it’s only right to mention it first – and I also bought it originally before becoming a consultant. I was drawn to the Fresh Nude foundation because it’s best suited for dry skin, check! The dewy formula doesn’t dry up and cling to dry patches which I’d always found with many brands. The shade was also a perfect match, I have VERY pale skin and I feel that most pale shades are usually more on the pinkish side, however I’m more warm/neutral. It’s a medium coverage foundation and also buildable, and I like that it feels lightweight on my skin. Pairing it with the Fresh Nude Bamboo brush is a great choice too as the bristles are amazing for blending it in.
Another product I have fell in love with is the Brow Sculpt 3in1, which I’ve been using for over a year now. The product has 3 different tools: a wax pencil, powder sponge and brow gel. I like that I can use all 3 to create a bold and shaped brow, or just use one or two for a more subtle look. The product also lasts all day, especially the gel which holds the hairs into place. I’ve tried and tested a LOT of other products and brands before but this is hands down my favourite, and I use it daily!
As for a lip product, I thought I’d mention another product I use on a daily basis. I love a lot of The Body Shop’s lip products, but for everyday and a more natural look, the Coco Cooling Lip Juicer is my personal favourite. The lip juicers firstly are highly fragranced, and have a gorgeous fruity smell! They are also hydrating which I love as I personally suffer from very dry and sore lips, so I need something that’s going to also be moisturising as well as looking good. Thirdly they have a subtle colour, this one is a peachy pink. Like all lip products it does fade throughout the day, but I like that it’s compact and also easy to apply – it’s shaped so you can use it straight onto the lips, a plus for me who usually has my nails done and dipping into a lip balm is annoying!
And that is my 3 chosen products for under £30 – using the discounts consultants can offer! I hope you enjoyed this edition, you can also find the skincare and bath and body versions on my blog. I’ve really enjoyed teaming up with Kate and she has really valuable content surrounding affordable and cruelty free products, see her post here: https://bargainbeautyhub.com/2021/02/19/the-body-shop-under-30-series-makeup-edition/
